Mother’s are honored on Mother’s Day for all the special things they do, but father’s need recognition too and that is really why Father’s Day came about.
Father’s Day is celebrated worldwide, but the official day it is celebrated on differs according to the country. For instance, in Belgium, Bolivia and Honduras it is celebrated on March 19th. In Australia and New Zealand it is in September, and in China the date is August 8th.
In the United States, Father’s Day was first celebrated during a church service held on July 5th, 1908. The purpose behind the service was believed to be suggested by Grace Golden Clayton to honor fathers who had died in a recent mine explosion.
The idea of special day set aside for children to honor their fathers began with Sonora Smart Dodd in 1909. Sonora was raised by her father after her mother died, and she wanted to let him know how special he was to her.

When the tree leaves have donned their beautiful gold and orange colors and there is an autumn chill in the air, the time is fast approaching for Halloween. Children everywhere begin to think of the wild and funny characters they will become on the eve of Halloween. The crystal comes in all the most popular patterns, like pinwheel crystal. You may find one glass at one flea market and search for others to complete the set somewhere else. If you place the glasses in a pretty tissue-lined gift box, who is to know that these are second-hand items?
