Every parent is interested in their children’s education. Schools today are great in teaching children the fundamentals such as reading, writing and arithmetic. But, what about subjects that get little attention in today’s school systems? What do today’s schools offer in music education, and how important is music in our children’s world?

If you stop to think about it, music plays a large part in our everyday lives. We hear various types of music all day long, when we play our favorite CD on the car stereo on our way to work, when we listen to the news and hear background music playing to highlight the action, or even on an elevator when the soothing sounds count off the floors. Everyone listens to music in one form or another. So, is it important to our children to learn a little something about music in their education?

Could that perchance indicate an underlying personality that is just dieing to come out-one that is as daring and as exciting as the work they enjoy? Imagine entering the home of a very conservative banker. What would you think if all around his home were artworks that were provocative and very modern? Could that perhaps indicate that there may be another hidden side to this person, not just the conventional person that he portrays to the world?

Imagine the sweet scent of cotton candy in the air. You can hear the sounds of crowds of people and the squealing laughter of little children as they sit upon their favorite ride at the fair. Some children are content to just sit on a beautifully carved and painted beast, while others are trying to catch the brass ring as they go by. Round and round and round they go. The carousel has always been a popular ride at amusement parks.

The carousel, sometimes called a merry-go-round, is an amusement park ride made up of a rotating platform which has seats for passengers. The seats that the passengers ride on are most often in the form of wooden horses, but can also be any number of other animals or whimsical creatures. The carousel simulates the up-and-down movement of horses galloping by mechanical means.
